One of the most important events in the Bungay social calendar, the annual Duck Race will soon be making a splash once more. A fantastic day out for all the family, the Great Bungay Duck Race will take place on 14 July in Falcon Meadow. As well as being a great opportunity to flex your competitive muscles and raise money for charity, the event offers locals of all ages the chance to get together, have fun and enjoy some traditional East Anglian entertainment.

Musker McIntyre and the Great Bungay Duck Race

In order to ensure this important local tradition is kept alive – and to do our bit for the community – Musker McIntyre will once more be sponsoring the Great Bungay Duck Race. As well as being there on the day to cheer on the competitors, we’ll be helping the residents of Bungay prepare properly for this all-important event. So if you’re yet to invest in a duck of your own, we’re here to help you get race ready.

Duck decorating at Bungay library

As all Bungay locals will know, how a duck looks is almost as important as how fast it can race. To help ensure all competitors look the part on the day, we’ll be holding a duck decorating event at Bungay Library on Sunday 30 June.

The session costs just £1 and all craft materials will be provided by Musker McIntyre. This means that all you need to bring is a bit of inspiration and your creative flare and you’ll have a competitor fit for the race in no time. Bring all the family along to the event to see who can create the most original and eye-catching design. Members of the Musker McIntyre team will be there on the day to lend a hand, so don’t worry if arts and crafts isn’t your forte or if you’re struggling for ideas.

All funds raised from the event will go towards the community ownership of Falcon Meadow, helping to ensure this beautiful local spot is preserved for the community and for future generations. The duck decorating day will start at 10am and run till noon, so make sure you get down to the library early if you want to take part.

Once you’ve decorated your puddleduck, you’ll be ready for action. The members of the Musker McIntyre team will be able to talk you through entering the race and may even give you some top tips to help give your duck the best chance of success.

A great day out for all the family, the Bungay Duck Race is a must for anyone staying in Bungay or the surrounding area this summer. To find out more about what’s happing in the nearby region, take a look around our site today.
