Beccles is a tranquil yet thriving market town with a full range of amenities, including restaurants, pubs, and wine bars, leading supermarkets, and a fantastic Lido swimming pool. There is a weekly traditional market that takes place every Friday and a fortnightly farmers market on the outskirts of town.

The area boasts some highly regarded schools and is well connected by road and rail to the city of Norwich or London Liverpool Street station. The town hall hosts regular performances and pantomimes suitable for the whole family, and the river itself provides trips out by boat and down to the Geldeston Locks via the Black Dog ferry.
