Great News for Norwich!

Friday 15th December 2017

If you live in Norwich, or are familiar with the area, it probably won’t come as much of a surprise that the city has been named as one of best places to live in the UK. In a round up published by The Sunday Times, the city was commended for its good transport links, excellent pubs, great restaurants and eclectic collection of independent shops. Or, as Sunday Times writer Tim Palmer put it, Norwich is ““Everything you want from a city, enclosed in a neat, pretty little package.”

For homeowners looking to sell properties in Norwich, this recognition is great news. Helping to put a spotlight on the city and highlight its many outstanding qualities, the Sunday Times list could well encourage even more people to make the move to East Anglia.

Norwich named one of the best places to live in the UK

When compiling their list of the best places to live in the UK, the Sunday Times looked at several factors including transport links, the quality of available housing, the choice of pubs and the variety of social activities taking place in the city. Norwich scored highly on all of these fronts, placing it firmly within the top five places to live in the UK.

Norwich property hotspots

The list cited The Golden Triangle as the most desirable area of Norwich thanks to the wealth of attractive Victorian houses available. It also highlighted the Northern Distributor Road as a thoroughfare that’s made villages like Thorpe St Andrew more accessible.

Homeowners living in The Golden Triangle have already seen their home values increase significantly over the past few years and this is has started to impact on home values in neighbouring areas with more and more people look to move to the area. Luckily for house hunters, the wealth of attractive properties available means there are still some beautiful homes to be found both in and around this desirable property hotspot.

A small city with big ideas

One of the main things that The Sunday Times praised about Norwich was its ambition. Although only small compared to many of the other cities on the list, Norwich packs a big punch when it comes to culture, history, charm and social activities. This attractive mix of qualities is encouraging more and more people to relocate to the city, increasing demand for property in Norwich and the surrounding areas.
